FAQ
How does the survey work?
Who can take part?
The survey is available to all South Australian businesses. The survey is online for the last two clear weeks of the March, June and September quarters and the first two clear weeks of the December quarter. This ensures that the data collected is a fair representation of the last quarter.
How do I take part?
Take two minutes to register your details with us, and then start the survey.
How long does the survey take?
It should take less than 5 minutes for you to complete the survey each time.
Are my details kept confidential?
All company details are kept confidential, and only collective results are published. You can also elect not to participate in the leaderboard competition by ticking the relevant box on the Sign Up page.
When are the survey results processed?
After two weeks of the survey being available online, Business SA removes the survey from the website and processes the results. Results are released one week after the survey is offline.
When are the leaderboard results processed?
After the survey is removed from the website and the results are analysed, Business SA will compare each respondent’s answers to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). Those most accurate will make it onto the leaderboard and you will be notified of your status via e-mail.
How are the questions formulated?
The Survey of SA Business Expectations is based upon the set of core questions required to contribute to the St. George Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Business Expectations Survey.
Each quarter, the Business SA Survey of SA Business Expectations also asks a wide range of topical business related supplementary questions. These supplementary questions have covered issues such as electricity, taxation and skilled migration.
